How to Design a Beautiful Native Garden: achieving formal, cottage and contemporary styles with local plants

Date: Saturday, 15 April (10am-12noon)

Presented by Shaun Walsh of Shaun Walsh Landscape Architect.

Shaun is a landscape architect with more than 30 years experience in a multitude of public and private consultancy roles. Most importantly Shaun is also a keen gardener of many decades. His gardens are featured in the former Open House Garden Scheme (Annerley, Brisbane), ABC Gardening Australia (Hobart, Tasmania) and  in published work, “Foreground” (Cooran, Queensland). Shaun is based in the Noosa hinterland and works from his studio in a large native garden setting in Black Mountain. He provides landscape architectural services in the Sunshine Coast, Mary Valley and Wide Bay areas.

Shaun has been sharing his enthusiasm for native plants and palpable passion for beautifully designed gardens at sell-out workshops over the last three years, including for the Urban Wildlife Gardens program and Noosa District Landcare. He is excited to bring this hands-on design workshop to participants in The Backyard Series at the Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Garden.
