The change makers

A fungi photography exhibition celebrating Sunshine Coast Council Environmental Visitor Centre volunteers.

This exhibition is a celebration of the volunteers at Sunshine Coast Council's Environmental Visitor Centres and is held in conjunction with National Volunteer Week.

The exhibition features volunteers’ photographs of fungi observed along our walking track at Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve, Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Garden, and Maroochy Wetlands Sanctuary.

Why fungi? Fungi are the reason the beautiful forests in our reserves are thriving. Fungi keep a community together - they are constantly branching out and creating new connections. Fungi are great communicators, sharing information and resources between each other and the plants around them. Just like volunteers, they are The Change Makers, this year’s theme for National Volunteer Week 15 – 21 May 2023.

Dates: Exhibition open weekdays from 11 May - 26 May (10:00am - 2:00pm).

Venue: Exhibition space of the Arts and Ecology Centre.

Free event.
