Beautiful shelters for your perfect picnic.

Outdoor picnic tables can be found throughout the Botanic Garden.  Several beautifully constructed picnic shelters are also provided.  Larger shelters suitable for groups are listed below.

Tallowwood Shelter

  • Capacity: 60 people
  • Accessibility: Adjacent to carpark and amenities block, sealed paths
  • Location: Forested, elevated above western bank of lagoon

Kurrajong Shelter

  • Capacity: 40 people
  • Accessibility: Walking access only, non-sealed path, 100m from parking
  • Location: Open lawn area overlooking eastern bank of lagoon

Whipbird Shelter

  • Capacity: 20 people
  • Accessibility: Walking access only, non-sealed path, 150m from parking
  • Location: Adjacent to children's Whipbird nature play areas, lawn and forest

Friendship Shelter

  • Capacity: 20 people
  • Accessibility: Walking access only, non-sealed path, 100m from parking
  • Location: Adjacent to Friendship colonnade, lawn and manicured gardens

Please note

  • Limited tables and chairs are provided at each shelter
  • No BBQs or rubbish bins
  • No water or power access
  • Picnic shelters can not be booked or reserved

Visiting with children?

Come and play in the Whipbird Village or go for a stroll on the Whipbird Walk.  Find hidden artworks, cross the rope bridge or play in the bush cubbies.
