Exhibition: Design Wilds

16 Nov - 6 Dec: Twenty artists and designers celebrating wildflowers and local plants

Monday 16 November - Sunday 6 December, 9.30am - 2.30pm daily

Celebrate the beauty, diversity and wonder of our native flora in Design Wilds, the final exhibition in the Arts and Ecology Centre for 2026.

Bringing together a vibrant collection of works by 22 artists and designers from across the region and beyond, Design Wilds showcases original pattern designs and artworks inspired by the wildflowers and plants of our natural landscapes. Discover the extraordinary colours, forms and intricate details of local flora through a rich display of contemporary creative practice.

A special feature of the exhibition is the first iteration of Flower Shelter, an immersive installation by artist Fiona Harding. Comprising more than 5,000 flowers hand-crafted from reclaimed fabrics, this captivating work invites visitors to step inside a blooming floral environment and experience the installation from within, either seated or standing.
