Are you seeking a rewarding, immersive, peer teaching-learning experience for your students? One that will build and expand their environmental and sustainability understanding, literacy, stewardship and leadership? Then the award-winning Sunshine Coast Council Kids in Action program is for you.
Kids in Action (KIA) is an annual environmental education program, funded by council's Environment Levy. Designed for school-aged children from Years 5-9, the program features an environmental field day and a kids teaching kids conference event.
KIA grows a culture that values caring for the natural world. Opportunities for genuine learning exchanges with First Nations People, environmental organisations, and each other, are cultivated and supported. Positive and inspiring environmental and sustainability action and leadership outcomes are achieved through active and autonomous planning and delivery of student-generated projects, shared via peer-to-peer learning experiences.
