Sago Flower, Ozothamnus diosmifolius

Small shrub with long lasting blooms.

The Sago Flower is a small shrub found naturally in eucalypt forests. It is a hardy plant producing long-lasting dense clusters of white or pale pink flowers that often feature in floral arrangements. In the garden, this plant makes a great backdrop to lower more colourful blooms and with pruning forms an attractive low hedge. The flowers attract a wide range of insects including the Australian Painted Lady Butterfly, Vanessa kershawi.

Description

The Sago Flower is an open woody shrub that grows to around 1.5m. Its small narrow leaves are aromatic when crushed.  Clusters of small white – pale pink flowers appear in dense heads from spring to early summer.

Growth requirements
