The Sandfly Bush is a low shrub found in wet sclerophyll forests. This understory plant is easy to grow in the garden and is a host for caterpillars of the Orchard Swallowtail butterfly, Papilio aegeus.


Description

The Sandfly Bush is an open shrub that grows up to 2m tall. Clusters of small white flowers form from winter to spring. The leaves are dark green and made up of three leaflets, producing an aroma when crushed.


Growth requirements

The Sandfly Bush is an understorey plant and grows well in partially shaded, protected areas with a regular supply of moisture. It is tolerant to a range of soil types.
