Wild HeART Student Art Prize 2024

Celebrating biodiversity and connection to nature through young creative excellence.

Congratulations to all the 2024 Wild HeART Student Art Prize entrants.

It was an honour to receive such an abundance of outstanding artworks and heartfelt statements. Children and young people aged 5 - 18yrs have expressed their love of our native wildlife, plants and places from Bokarina to Bribie Island, Sunrise Beach to Mt Ninderry, Aroona to Amamoor, Maleny to Yandina and beyond. In 2024, entrants shared stories of special environments they've visited, and also of the biodiversity living in their own backyards.

A selection panel has reviewed the submissions and read every child's statement. We were impressed by the diversity of species chosen and the mediums mastered, including charcoal, watercolour, acrylic paint and coloured and graphite pencil.

To everyone who entered: You should be very proud of your efforts! We encourage you all to continue getting out into nature, to stay curious and to keep creating.

Wild HeART Walk - the finalists' outdoor gallery trail

Wild HeART is partnering with Sunshine Coast Libraries to celebrate the 2024 finalists, with the support of First 5 Forever funding. The twenty-one outstanding artworks above and their accompanying student statements will be exhibited as a 'larger than life' walk-along exhibition at the Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Garden. This will be on display for the entire summer holidays, from December 2024 through to January 2025.

Bring your family and go on a Wild HeART Walk this summer at the Botanic Garden.
